Who Are We?
The Cassel Hills Piranhas Swim Team is a recreational summer swim team for athletes ages 5-18. We are part of the Southern Ohio Swim League (SOSL), which includes teams from the wider Miami Valley. We operate with an entirely volunteer board made of parents from the team, and parent volunteers are critical to the running of our swim meets as well.
We are open to swimmers of all talent levels! Whether your swimmer is eager to set course records, or is nervous about finishing their first event, they are welcome to be part of our team. Our coaches train new swimmers on strokes and techniques, and for those ages 8 and under, we offer Mini Bites swim lessons (ages 4-5) and Assisted Swim (ages 5-8) to help them gain confidence in the water.
Our season runs from late May (when practices start) through early July, with swim meets starting in mid-June. We have 6 meets (3 home, 3 away) followed by the SOSL League Championships. Every swimmer competes in every meet, with each event usually having multiple heats for each age group. Swimmers who win their heat get a heat winner ribbon, and those with the best overall times in each event take home ribbons as well.
